Logo, Branding, & Website For a Specialty Fine Foods Importer
Newmarket Fine Foods is an Italian food importer, rich in tradition that prides itself in the quality and uniqueness of their selection of products. Focusing on imports that would inspire you to share them with your families, friends, and valued customers. In selling high-quality products, they are committed to providing customers with a full selection of products, making them both competitive to the retailer yet affordable to the consumer.
Project Goals
The team at Newmarket had a logo, but it was created over 30 years ago and had no digital form. Sadly, there isn’t even a good photo of the logo, so it’s lost in time. Our job was to capture the essence of the brand and original logo, but also make major changes to the brand to create a timeless logo that would fit their niche of fine foods. It may seem like a catch 22, but we succeeded in creating a new logo that captured the hearts of the team at Newmarket!
Logo Design
For the logo design process, we broke down the brand to the roots and worked with them to find the symbol they felt would best fit their brand. After some researching, we came to the conclusion of the wheat leaves which has a vital role as a high-quality raw material for the pasta industry and was used as a representation of the company’s Italian origins.

Color Pallete
We had a great time working on the color palette for Newmarket. Originally the brand had a deep red and black color palette that definitely worked for the luxury Italian feel, but much less for the food importing portion of the company. When speaking with Paul, the founder of Newmarket, he told us that he always loved the use of the color orange, and was jealous of some of the bright company logos he’s seen, but just didn’t know how to incorporate it so it would work for Newmarket. So we did just that! It was our job to properly implement it so we focused on creating a bright inviting color that would still keep the luxury feel they were looking for.

Website Design
The website was a culmination of all of the branding and logo work we had done so far. In order to keep the unique and personal communication with their customers, they decided to keep the ordering portion through them and not include it on the website. They needed a page that they could attract new clients, with tons of contact opportunities, information, & an updating product list they could swap out whenever major changes occurred to their inventory.
“Marcus & the team worked diligently to get us exactly to the look and feel we knew we wanted, truly a dream to work with, I can’t thank you guys enough!”
