Logo, Branding, & Website for A Boutique Consignment Shop In NY

Resiklo is a seamless boutique retail experience. They are a sustainable consignment shop with a vast network and access to a world-class selection of fine furnishings. They offer clients a diverse catalog of completely unique curated furnishings, artwork, decorative items, and other exceptional pieces.

Project Goals

Resiklo, originally known as “Upcycled Design”, was looking to modernize their image and launch a web platform for their business. We worked with the team and took the opportunity to “upcycle” their brand through rebranding. My work helped this innovative brand create a modern-day image while still remaining true to its core values. After brainstorming with the client and team, we came up with the name “Resiklo” which is the Tagalog word for Recycle, a nod toward the owner’s Philipino roots. We decided that it was good to move away from the connotations of “upcycled”, a term for upgrading discarded old furniture, which can carry a negative connotation for a high-end brand.

Logo Design

A bold, unique, high-end, and memorable brand identity was created to speak directly to the clientele that Resiklo generally serves. They wanted a system that could be used for both print and online use without any changes needed, so a simple and clean logotype was designed to meet the wide range of functions that may come up. We also took inspiration from the previous logo, keeping the directional arrows (a gentle nod to the arrows of recycling). Finally, We opted to remove all of the extra descriptors other than the brand name, letting the marketing and website explain the brand rather than trying to explain every detail in the logo while also adding legibility to the logo at any size.

Responsive Website Design

We started Resiklo’s project during the COVID epidemic, when having in-store customers was restricted. Their internet presence was more essential than ever because of the limitations placed on their in-person clients. It was critical to the website’s success that consumers could shop for their new home goods from the comfort of their own homes. We strove to create the most consistent and seamless online shopping experience possible, taking into account both desktop and mobile usage. We hoped to allow internet customers to connect with the team in real time and maintain that white glove brand experience they are known for.

Color Pallete

Resiklo is one of our most popular brand identities to date. Their clean, modern, luxury feel have created a name for Resiklo in the high-end furniture scene in the local New York art community working with brands like Fendi,  Saks, & Burberry. They knew they wanted to carry this into their new venture, but tweak a few details in order to create a look that was unique to this new business. We darkened the green in the original palette and added a dark grey, which could be used for general text to bring a more of a darker luxurious look. Lastly, we added a pale pink to be used for the rare instances where a light opposition to the green was needed.
